MINORIA 2027 — OPEN FIELD
THE WARSAW PROGRAMME | ORAC GALLERY | 2027
The space between becomes a field of possibilities.
From Venice to Warsaw: a new curatorial context
MINORIA is an ongoing artistic and curatorial programme conceived and directed by Monika Turczyńska. Its central inquiry concerns the space between — between perception and form, memory and matter, presence and absence, and one artistic language and another.
During 2026, MINORIA developed through a series of exhibitions in Venice and presentations in Chicago, with a further presentation planned for CONTEXT Art Miami in December. These chapters approached the concealed and the barely perceptible through traces, material, time, light and the latent image.
In 2027, the programme establishes a new principal point of departure in Warsaw. The transition is not simply a change of venue: where Venice suggests water, reflection and accumulated time, Warsaw provides an environment of transformation, discontinuity, coexistence and renewed encounters. Neither place is imposed as a subject for the artists. Instead, the location enters into the relationships that a curated exhibition may create.
OPEN FIELD — relations without prescribed likeness
OPEN FIELD imagines a gallery exhibition as a relational field. The works do not have to illustrate one topic, resemble one another or explain their relevance to a set theme. Distinct practices, materials, histories and positions retain their autonomy. The curator attends to the tensions, distances, affinities and unforeseen readings that appear between them.
An artist submitting work to OPEN FIELD is not required to demonstrate why it belongs to the programme. A statement about artistic practice may be included voluntarily, but the responsibility for constructing a curatorial dialogue belongs to the curator.
The 2027 programme begins in Warsaw
MINORIA — OPEN FIELD inaugurates the Warsaw programme with a ten-day international contemporary art exhibition at ORAC Gallery, Nowolipki 27, from 22 to 31 January 2027. Opening: 22 January at 19:00. Subsequent chapters of the programme will be announced separately; this introduction does not imply that their participants or dates have been selected.
The project builds a continuing curatorial investigation across years and locations. Rather than treating each exhibition as an isolated event, MINORIA connects them through a developing language of perception and relation.
International invitation to artists
The January exhibition is preceded by an international open call, accepting applications through 31 December 2026. Each artist may submit up to three works. Early Bird application fee: €25 until 31 October; regular fee: €35 from 1 November. Selected artists pay no additional gallery exhibition fee.
