An invitation to autonomous artistic languages

MINORIA — OPEN FIELD inaugurates the 2027 Warsaw programme curated by Monika Turczyńska. Following chapters in Venice and presentations in Chicago in 2026, with a further presentation planned at CONTEXT Art Miami in December 2026, MINORIA enters a new spatial and cultural context.

OPEN FIELD is an inquiry into what emerges between autonomous artworks: tensions, distances, unexpected affinities and resonances. The exhibition is not an illustration of a prescribed theme. Applicants need not explain why their works fit the title. A statement about artistic practice is optional; curatorial interpretation belongs to the curator.

Who may apply and what to submit

Artists aged 18 and over from any country may apply. We consider painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, sculpture, digital and video art, mixed media and installation. Work requiring special handling, substantial equipment or complex mounting is subject to technical and spatial approval.

Submit contact details, a brief biography (up to 150 words), and one to three artworks. For each work supply title, year, medium, size, weight where relevant, technical requirements and JPG or PNG preview. For video add a preview link. A website or portfolio link and an artist statement are optional. CVs, recommendation letters and motivation letters are not required. Applicants must control the necessary copyright and permissions; disclose AI-assisted processes where relevant.

Curatorial selection and what is included

Monika Turczyńska selects the exhibition based on artistic strength, originality, spatial feasibility and relationships between works. There is no external jury, cash prize, guaranteed selection, sale, audience level or future gallery representation. The organiser and curator's immediate family are ineligible. The gallery provides standard curatorial preparation, exhibition space, regular installation coordination, work labels and photographic documentation. Selected works may appear with attribution in related online materials.

Selected artists do not pay an additional exhibition fee. They cover delivery and collection, packaging, shipping, customs where applicable, and optional travel. Framing, fabrication, unusual exhibition equipment or specialist installation require a prior written agreement. Do not send physical works before confirmation and transport instructions.

Schedule

31 October 2026 — last Early Bird application day (€25). 31 December 2026 — deadline (€35 from 1 November). By 6 January 2027 — selection results by email. By 9 January — selected artists confirm. 21 January — delivery by appointment. 22 January, 19:00 — opening. 22–31 January — exhibition. 1 February — collection by appointment. Visiting hours will be announced separately.

Fees, withdrawal and refunds

The applicable fee is the full cost charged by the organiser for administration and curatorial consideration of one application of up to three works; selection is not guaranteed. Applicants may withdraw within 14 days of payment and receive a full refund, including when review has started. Email a clear withdrawal request with name, application email and payment reference to monika@oracgallery.com. Refunds are made to the original payment method within 14 days of receiving the request.

After the 14-day period, non-selection alone does not entitle an applicant to a refund, without prejudice to mandatory legal rights. If the organiser cancels the exhibition, application fees are refunded. Material changes to dates or participation conditions will be notified with an option to withdraw and receive a refund. Contact monika@oracgallery.com about complaints or payment errors; the organiser aims to respond within 14 days.

Copyright, privacy and organiser

Artists retain copyright. Submissions are used privately for selection. Selected artists grant non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to display selected work and reproduce credited images for this exhibition's promotion and documentary archive. No copyright transfer, merchandise, unrelated licensing or AI training is authorised; unselected works are not publicised without separate consent.

Wix, payment providers and necessary organisers may process limited data; complete card data is not disclosed to the gallery. Unselected application files are retained no longer than 12 months after the exhibition except legal records. Selected exhibition documentation may be archived.

Applicants may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability where applicable, and object to legitimate-interest processing by email to monika@oracgallery.com. Complaints may be submitted to the competent data-protection authority, including UODO. Selection is made by the curator, not automated decision-making.
