About the event
MINORIA — Condensed Trace | Oraczewski
During the Venice Biennale, ORAC Gallery presents a new installation by Józef Krzysztof Oraczewski.
MINORIA — Condensed Trace marks the fifth chapter of an ongoing curatorial project exploring the relationship between form, perception and emergence. The exhibition unfolds at a threshold — a condition in which the image has not yet stabilised, but remains in a state of concentration.
Oraczewski’s practice is grounded in process. His works develop through the accumulation of gesture, material and internal tension, allowing visual structures to appear, dissolve and reconfigure without resolving into a singular image. The surface becomes a site of condensation.
Executed in part in dry pastel on paper, the works retain a direct sensitivity to gesture. The edges — irregular, worn and at times burned — do not frame the image, but expose its limits. The work does not sit on the surface; it occurs within it.
