About the event
MINORIA: Receding Trace presents a new chapter of the ongoing curatorial project MINORIA, conceived and directed by Monika Turczyńska and developed in collaboration with Józef Krzysztof Oraczewski.
The exhibition is conceived in direct relation to MINORIA: Condensed Trace, in which form approached a state of concentration and near-stability. Taking this condition as its point of departure, Receding Trace reverses its direction. What had begun to condense is here released, returning to a state of latency in which form has not yet fully emerged and may remain unresolved.
Working with burnt, folded and deformed surfaces, the artist approaches the image not as a structure to be constructed, but as a condition that can withdraw. Colour persists within the material as a trace of potential, rather than defining form. The works do not present images in a conventional sense, but hold them in suspension — between appearance and disappearance.
